Sir, this was a very informative video , but a demonstration of attaching/strapping the mattress to the bed frame, would really have been helpful; I’ve looked online, and was surprised that the manual instruction, manufacturers guide left this information out, as far as what I could see. Thank you.

ER Tech here (medic student too), thank you for going in depth as much as you could with this. My unit uses these and they don’t train techs on this, but I wanted to learn more in case I have to transfer a patient and their blood transfusion or dopamine gets interrupted, at least I’ll have the knowledge on how to fix the issue instead of shit hitting the fan and me giving the answer “I didn’t know what to do”

the smart prompts on this machine are an absolute godsend... i was able to keep my mothers pump running constantly with nearly no stops on my own and the nurses loved that i was so involved. they are incredibly overworked and it takes them sometimes 45 mins to respond to a patient call... if you ever are admitted YOU NEED A COMPANION! YOU NEED THEM.

what a godsend the smart prompts are. makes it so simple a family member can get it going again when it complains in a busy hospital.

Appreciate this training, but I have to say I absolutely hate these pumps. They claim to have fewer air in line alarms, but this is absolutely not true. These stupid pumps are alarming constantly. It’s also ridiculous how cumbersome these pumps are. At max you can have 2 medications running through the pump at a time. If either of those medications is titratable though it makes it unsafe to have any other infusions going with it except for maybe a maintenance IVF. When you have sick icu patients on as many as 10-20 drips (this is not an exaggeration I have actually cared for a patient on 16+ drips) you have to have so many pumps they absolutely clutter up the bedside space. Not to mention if you have to transport your patient. You’ll need at least 2-3 other hands to help you push your IV poles down the hall. I can appreciate the safety of these pumps, but overall I feel it is a huge step back in IV therapy for bedside nursing.
